Bell Table marble

Marble changes the first impression of the meanwhile famous Bell Table by designer Sebastian Herkner and enhances our perceptual surprise: The unusual use of materials makes the heavyweight tabletop seemingly float on the hand-blown, visually lightweight glass base. The materials enter into an interesting symbiosis with the contrast between the grain and colour play of the marble and the metal surface and hand-blown glass.

The base of the Bell Table becomes a striking, transparent tinted glass sculpture in space with a metal body resting on it. The glass provides the heavy metal with an appearance of floating lightness. The traditionally hand-blown glass base and pressed metal body establish an intriguing contrast while also forming a harmonious unit, reminiscent of the elegant curved silhouette of a bell.
